The head of East European Council Anton Naichuk participated at the International scientific and practical conference “Strengthening the NPT Regime and Global Security: Challenges and Prospects” that was held in Almaty on October 20.
The discussion was very constructive and Anton Naichuk presented the following position:
- global states should pay more attention to the global security and look for a new stable infrastructure of security guarantees for countries in the region of East Europe and Central Asia;
- world faced a real threat of nuclear weaponry as an instrument of “geopolitical blackmail” that is used by Russian Federation;
- aggression against Ukraine it is the first display when nuclear weaponry is using not as an instrument of deterrence, but as an instrument of attacking aggression. The main argument of this theory that Russia has occupied Ukrainian territories and threatens world of nuclear strike if Ukrainian army will try to reveal its people and lands: in this way nuclear weaponry estimated by Russian side as a measure to keep occupied territories.
East European Council will be actively cooperating with partners in Kazakhstan and develop ties between think tanks
