The East European Council organized a visit of a large Ukrainian delegation to Warsaw as part of the establishment of cooperation between our countries.
Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as defense sector specialists, were invited to participate in the visit.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Sejm, where an extremely constructive meeting was held with the participation of deputies from both sides of the inter-parliamentary friendship group.
Of particular importance was the visit to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Poland. Together with the government team, further formats for involving the Ukrainian parliament in solving key problems on the path to European integration were discussed.
The Eastern European Council will act as a partner in further initiatives at the government level, round tables and expert meetings.
The meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland was also an extremely important event.
A frank and constructive conversation showed that Ukraine is confidently moving towards joining the EU, and systematic joint work, solving urgent problems and challenges will make this process sufficiently fast and objective.
The three-day visit also included an expert summit “Baltic Sea Security”, which was opened by parliamentarians of the Sejm and the Verkhovna Rada.
The event was held in partnership with the Polish organizations MISO and New Eastern Europe with financial support from NATO.
The focus of the discussions on the first day was security and the possibility of involving Ukrainian experience in the protection of the countries of the region and ensuring the systematic operation of communications in the water area.
The second day was a closed simulation game of potential scenarios for the development of the situation, which was attended by leading experts from Ukraine, the Republic of Poland, Finland, Sweden, Estonia and France.
